Questions are good.

Do I need an engineer before repairing my foundation?+

You can get a repair without one, but Texas doesn’t license foundation repair contractors, including us. It does license engineers, and an engineer answers the questions a repair bid can’t: whether your foundation needs repair at all, what’s causing the movement, and what a repair has to accomplish. That’s why Endura doesn’t propose a repair until a licensed engineer has evaluated your home.

Why did I get such different repair bids?+

Because each bid is answering a different question. When bids come from separate inspections, each contractor applies its own judgment about what your home needs, with no common standard to measure against, so scopes and prices can vary widely. An engineering evaluation applies a common standard: the guidelines published by the Texas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), which weigh measured floor elevations together with the pattern of distress throughout the home. When every contractor bids the same engineered scope, the bids finally become comparable.

Why is the engineering evaluation not free?+

Because it’s a full engineering investigation, not a quick look. A licensed Professional Engineer spends 2 to 3 hours at your home mapping floor elevations, documenting distress, and noting site conditions, then a similar effort at the office analyzing the data with purpose-built software under the Texas Section ASCE guidelines. Because you pay for the engineering itself, the evaluation doesn’t have to end in a structural repair to be worth it, and most don’t. Evaluations from Criterium-Williams Engineers are $795 for most homes, and if you hire Endura for any recommended work, the cost of your evaluation, up to $800, comes off your price.

What’s included in an engineering evaluation?+

A Level B foundation evaluation under the Texas Section ASCE guidelines, with a sealed report describing the findings, the likely causes of any movement, and recommendations, including when the recommendation is no repair. For a closer look, see “Why a Licensed Engineer Matters” on the Criterium-Williams Engineers website: https://cweresidential.com/why-a-licensed-engineer-matters

Could the answer really be no repair?+

Yes. Many foundation concerns call for moisture management, site grading, tree and root management, consistent foundation watering, or simply monitoring, with no structural repair at all. When that’s the answer, that’s what the report says. In fact, most foundation evaluations Criterium-Williams Engineers has performed over the past decade did not recommend structural repair.

Can I take the report to another contractor?+

Absolutely. You can share the report with any contractor you choose, and you decide who performs any recommended work. For significant repairs, we encourage getting more than one proposal.

What if I already have a report from a licensed engineer?+

Send it to us. If you have a recent sealed report from a Texas-licensed engineer, Endura can prepare a proposal based on its recommendations. If the evaluation was completed within the last 60 days, the evaluation discount applies.

How does the evaluation discount work?+

If your report recommends work of any kind, whether site improvements, drainage, or structural repair, and you hire Endura to perform it, we take the cost of your engineering evaluation, up to $800, off the price. The discount applies to a sealed evaluation from Criterium-Williams Engineers or any other Texas-licensed engineering firm completed within the last 60 days.

Are Endura’s prices competitive?+

Yes, in an apples-to-apples comparison, and we encourage you to get multiple bids. We write every scope around the total cost of resolving the problem, not just the lowest number for one piece of it. For example, one bid might underpin and level your home with interior piles installed through holes cut in the slab, but exclude plumbing. If your plumbing also needs repair, a plumber may then need to tunnel under the same slab afterward, and you pay for that access twice. When a home needs both, Endura scopes the piles and plumbing repairs together, so the work is done once. When comparing bids, check what each one includes and what it leaves out.

What is Endura’s mission?+

Endura exists to deliver the right repair, not the same repair. We don’t start with a product and fit every house to it; we build what a licensed engineer recommends for your home, scope the complete repair rather than the cheapest piece of it, and document the work so you can see it was done right. Endura’s owners have evaluated homes across Central Texas as engineers for more than a decade, and some of the most troubled foundations they’ve seen had already been repaired, often with a method that didn’t fit the problem. Endura was built so that doesn’t happen on our watch.

Who owns Endura?+

Endura is owned by J. Dustin Williams, P.E. and Jamie Robinson, P.E., who also lead Criterium-Williams Engineers, a separately registered Texas engineering firm. The two companies have separate responsibilities: engineering firms evaluate and recommend; Endura builds. You’re free to use any engineer with Endura, and any contractor with a Criterium-Williams report.

Does Endura provide engineering?+

Endura doesn’t perform engineering itself. When a repair requires engineered design, such as pile layouts, permit drawings, or construction observation, Endura retains a Texas-licensed engineering firm as part of your Endura contract, so design and construction are covered under one agreement. That firm is typically Criterium-Williams Engineers, which shares common ownership with Endura. If you’d prefer a different licensed engineer, let us know before we prepare your proposal and we’ll price the work with them. Your evaluation is separate: you contract for it directly, and the report is yours to use and share.

How do you keep the engineering objective?+

Through safeguards you can verify, much like an orthopedic surgeon who documents your diagnosis and welcomes a second opinion before surgery. Evaluations are performed by Texas-licensed Professional Engineers, based on measured floor elevations and observed distress, and analyzed under recognized Texas Section ASCE guidelines. The fee is the same whatever the report finds, and you receive the sealed report before Endura proposes anything.

Can I get an evaluation without Endura involved?+

Yes. Endura has no role in your evaluation, and it won’t solicit, bid, or propose any work unless you check Yes in your evaluation agreement. If your evaluation relates to a warranty claim, insurance claim, or dispute, Endura won’t propose or perform any work arising from it.

What types of properties do you work on?+

Detached single-family homes in Central Texas. It’s our specialty: our methods, crews, and warranty are built around these homes. We don’t work on townhomes, duplexes, or other attached homes, multifamily or commercial buildings, or association-maintained properties.

What foundation repairs do you handle?+

Endura repairs both slab and pier-and-beam foundations, using push piles, helical piles, polyurethane injection, soil stabilization treatments, structural crack injection, tunneling, beam and pier replacement, drainage and site improvements, and coordination of plumbing leak repairs. The method comes from the engineer’s recommendation, not from the equipment we own.

Does Endura do repairs other than foundations?+

Yes. Endura is a residential structural repair contractor. From damaged roof trusses and sagging garage door headers to failing masonry arches, steel lintels, and unstable brick or stone, Endura completes structural repairs based on recommendations from a licensed Professional Engineer.

Who performs the work?+

Endura works like a custom home builder for structural repair. A custom builder doesn’t use one crew for everything; they bring in the right specialist for each part of the house and manage the project to the plans. Endura does the same, bringing in specialist crews for piles, tunneling, drainage, and each other part of your repair, chosen from more than a decade of seeing which work holds up. We set the requirements from the engineer’s recommendations and manage the job from start to finish.

Is Endura insured?+

Yes. Endura carries general liability insurance, and permits are pulled wherever the city requires them.

Will I get proof the repair was done right?+

Yes. Every project ends with a closeout package: before-and-after floor elevation surveys, photos of the work at key stages, and a pile log recording each pile’s location, depth, and refusal force (or installation torque, for helical piles).

How long does a repair take?+

It depends on the scope. Simple repairs, such as a truss repair, can often be completed in a day, while larger foundation projects take longer. Your proposal includes an estimated schedule, though weather and conditions uncovered during the work can affect timing.

I’m buying a home and on an option deadline. Can you help?+

Yes. Reports from Criterium-Williams Engineers are typically delivered within five business days of the evaluation, or two with expedited delivery, so schedule early in your option period. If you requested an Endura proposal in your evaluation agreement and the report recommends corrective work, Endura delivers it within 24 hours of the report, so you know the repair cost before your option period ends.

Does Endura provide a warranty?+

Yes. Every area of your foundation that Endura underpins carries a lifetime warranty against settlement, and the warranty transfers to future owners if you sell. If an underpinned area settles beyond the tolerance defined in your written warranty, Endura will adjust or supplement the piles to bring it back within tolerance at no cost to you. Other repairs, such as drainage improvements, crack injection, or framing repairs, carry workmanship warranties suited to the type of work. Endura stands behind the entire warranty itself, so there’s one company to call. Full warranty terms are included with your proposal.
